They're calling it "Showdown in America" and that is exactly what they seem to be striving for.
As part of their on-going push to get the federal government into every nook and cranny of Americans' lives, the SEIU, AFL-CIO and a left-wing group called National People's Action are planning on storming K Street in Washington, DC on May 17th.
On May 17, everyday people from across the country will descend on K Street in Washington, DC. K Street is ground-zero for the corporate lobbyists that are driving gridlock in Washington. Our plan is to draw a direct line between Wall Street CEOS, their hired guns on K Street, and the elected officials who have become addicted to Big Bank campaign contributions.
It’s time to take back our democracy. Whether you care about banking reform, jobs and the rights of workers, quality and affordable housing and health care, or sustaining our planet, we share a common foe – greedy and reckless corporations that have taken control of democracy and are the big barrier standing between us and a more just and sustainable society.
While we already know that the SEIU's Andy Stern and Anna Burger have direct access to the White House, according to Big Government writer Andrew Marcus, President Obama's history with NPA predates even his history with the SEIU. Which begs the question Marcus asks:
