UPDATED! Dastardly union dealmakers dealt out of Dems’ disgusting DISCLOSE Act

It must pay to have friends in low high places because less than a week after the National Rifle Association sold out Americans' First Amendment rights for its own special deal, union bosses have had their Democratic sock puppets exempt unions from the DISCLOSE Act as well.

A Democratic amendment tucked into campaign finance legislation Wednesday night appears to exempt big labor unions from proposed disclosure requirements.

The change, inserted by Rep. Bob Brady (D-Pa.), chairman of the committee charged with handling the bill and a key union ally, would also affect other groups funded by members who pay dues of less than $50,000. While the move may satiate liberal Democrats who had become uneasy with an exemption for the National Rifle Association, a union loophole will certainly cause Big Business to cry foul.

[Update] From the Alliance for Worker Freedom:
The DISCLOSE Act marks a stark departure from the traditional treatment of corporations and unions by applying punitive measures to associations in the corporate form, but not to labor unions, even though these groups have traditionally been treated similarly in campaign finance law:
  • Companies that received federal money during the financial crisis face restrictions on speech, but not unions: General Motors cannot engage in express advocacy, urging voters to support a candidate by name, while the United Auto Workers union can
  • Corporations, unions, non-profits and 527 groups will be required to report donors who give more than $600 if they engage in express advocacy, -- average union dues, the source of the majority of their funds, in 2004 were $377
  • Businesses with government contracts worth more than $7 million are not allowed to engage in express advocacy while public sector unions that receive their dues from the taxpayers are exempt from such restrictions
  • Companies where a foreign entity owns 20 percent or more of a company’s shares are not allowed to engage in express advocacy while international unions are free to tell Americans how to vote

With Democrats throwing the Constitution out to special interests with the highest bid (or the best back-room talents), it is no wonder hard-working Americans no longer have faith in their government.

If special interests were lollipops, Democrats would be lining up to see who could suck the hardest.

BIG NEWS: TEDDY'S FAUX REPLACEMENT TO BE NAMED BY MASS GUV

Big News on the health care and EFCA debates: The Massachusetts legislature approved giving Democrat governor Devil Patrick the power to appoint an interim replacement for the late Senator, Ted Kennedy.

This will bring the Democrats the needed 60 votes in the Senate (assuming Robert Byrd [D-WV] can make it in to vote), to overcome any Repulican-led filibusters.

UNIONS' SECRET PLAN EXPOSED TODAY: EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT WILL DESTROY A FREE AMERICA

NOTE: THIS POST WAS UPDATED AT 5:26 P.M. AUG. 13 (SEE BOTTOM OF POST)

AMERICA HAS GASPED ITS LAST BREATH. YOU ARE NOW WATCHING THE CONVULSIONS OF AMERICA CHOKING ON AN ABUNDANCE OF WELL-PLANNED POLITICAL PROPAGANDA. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Although we have been warning people about it since 2006, today, the AFL-CIO is confirming what we have been saying all along: the devilishly-dubbed Employee Free Choice Act is intended to lead to one-party rule.

Finally, now that union bosses have gotten their political puppets in the White House and Congress, the AFL-CIO is openly stating that there has been a plan all along to reshape the American economy and destroy the Republican party in one-fell swoop: through passage of the Employee Free Choice Act.

The Secret Plan to Defeat the Right Forever
Thursday, August 13th 4:30 PM - 5:45 PM
Panel, 311

Modernizing the nation's labor law is critical to expanding union membership—which in turn, will ensure conservatives become a permanent minority, as newly-empowered workers actively engage in political action and demand a new way of doing the nation's business, like creating an economy that rewards Main Street and not just Wall Street. The freedom to form unions and bargain is critical to the progressive movement—when workers have the tools they need to build a better life, they have the power to improve their communities and the solidarity to make progressive political change throughout the nation.

Learn about the critical efforts to protect workers and expand union membership, like the Employee Free Choice Act, and the union movement's efforts to reform labor law.

Find out how the progressive movement has fought for labor law reform and what the next steps are, as well as how you can work together with unions online and in your community to get pro-worker bills passed and support pro-worker candidates.

Unfortunately, too many on the so-called Right (and even those who consider themselves independents and moderates) have failed to see the correlation between EFCA and one-party rule.

The Democratic Party has become the de facto Labor Party in the Unites States and the leaders in that party are determined to end free-market enterprise.

Until Americans understand this basic premise and unions are exposed for being the socialist-pushing organizations that they have become, Americans will continue to be 'hood-winked' and 'whip-sawed' by single issues of the moment.

AS YOU WATCH AMERICA GO THROUGH THE CONVULSIONS OF A CHOKING NATION, YOU CAN DO ONE OF TWO THINGS: EITHER STAND IDLY BY AND WATCH HER DIE, OR YOU CAN GET UP AND HELP FIGHT THE UNION ASSAULT ON THIS COUNTRY.

If you are interested in doing more to stop the union assault on America, here are some things you can do to start:

WE'VE BEEN WARNING ABOUT THE UNION PLAN FOR ONE-PARTY RULE FOR MORE THAN THREE YEARS. IT'S UP TO YOU TO HELP STOP IT.

UPDATE:

Following a response from a reader who was seemingly angry by our inference that EFCA and Communism are tied hand-in-hand, we offer the following (all excerpted from the Communist Party USA website).

Endorsement of the Employee Free Choice Act

Labor Upfront: Special New Year Edition – For a New Year of Progress & Struggle

Passage of Employee Free Choice also sets the stage for important struggles around healthcare, education, the environment, immigration reform, saving people's homes, mass transit, aid to states, cities and rural areas, and other critical needs. All of these struggles blend with, and are complimentary to, Employee Free Choice. And in turn all of these domestic struggles are central to reordering our nations priorities away from war and global dominance towards world cooperation and peaceful problems solving. Yes, we think it will be a very good year of struggle for labor.

Revolt with a Vote

This fight is winnable, and there is an actual strategy to win, a strategy that consists of more than playing at revolution and calling for chaos in the streets. Right now the elections are the most critical form of struggle; this is where we have the best shot of finally breaking the back of the ultra right. Afterwards, we will continue to build a united movement that can work to establish a real electoral alternative, and eventually to challenge the system overall.

GANGSTER GOVERNMENT (or what Ayn Rand called the Politics of Pull)

Though she hasn't been on our radar screens much, save for a couple of news clips seen now and then, this YouTube video of Michelle Bachman (R-MN) was just forwarded to us.

Her points are excellent. She cuts to the heart of the government taking over industry and what Ayn Rand called the Politics of Pull in her 1957 best-selling novel Atlas Shrugged.

The only problem for Ms. Bachman is that both parties, the Democrats (which has become America's de facto Labor Party) and the Republicans (which cannot get their own house in order) are both guilty of practicing the Politics of Pull.

TOP DEM HELPS UNION BOSSES TARGET OTHER DEMS: How Sen. Harkin is Conspiring With Union Bosses to Target Members of His Own Party

Imagine a U.S. Senator helping a special interest group to target members of his own party. Unbelievable? Well, it's happening and, now, the United Steel Workers (formerly known as the United Steel Workers of America) has confirmed what we stated earlier this week.

As we noted on Monday's post, Iowa's Senator Tom Harkin (D) had previously threatened that, barring any compromise, he would send the moronically-monikered Employee Free Choice Act to the Senate floor for an 'up or down' vote.

Despite the irony of the date, the question becomes, is there further significance to Harking's hurried threat?

As noted:

Why has Harkin made this threat? It's really very simple. Union bosses want to know who's with them (or not with them) so they can target the Dems on the fence in the 2010 mid-term elections. If they can't get to the four or five Democratic Senators who are now queasy over EFCA, they'll attempt to get the electorate to boot them from office next year.

It appears that we may have stumbled onto something as Unted Steel Workers stated rather bluntly yesterday:

Senator Harkin, who is leading this fight as Senator Kennedy deals with health issues, has vowed to either find a solution that works to get to 60 votes, or force those unsupportive Senators to take a vote on the original measure. This way, we know where they stand come election time. Either way, the vote could occur this summer, possibly within weeks.

So,there you have it. A senior member of the United States Senate, Tom Harkin, a Democrat, working to help a special interest group-union bosess-target fellow his fellow Democrats.

Where is the outrage from within the Democratic Party?

Of course the union threats against politicians who do not follow the union agenda are not new, as this video of an SEIU "person" threatening legislators in California proves.
