Money on Politics: SEIU Burns Through Nearly $1 Million in Massachusetts

Money (on both sides) has corrupted America's political process.

While Americans have a right to voluntarily spend their money on politics, many union members have no idea that much of the money they are forced required to pay union dues as a condition of employment (allegedly for union representation) is spent on politicians.

For example, in Massachusetts, the SEIU has already burned through nearly $1 million on Democrat Martha Coakley's campaign for U.S. Senate.

According to Michelle Malkin:

Now, on top of all the manpower that the Big Labor army of Purple Shirts has lent her, plus the group’s primary endorsement, and the $214,000 they sent her for radio ad buys last fall, the SEIU is preparing to burn through another $685,000 in rank-and-file union members’ dues for the attorney general.

It must be gratifying for the nearly 1500 SEIU members who, at $50 per month, paid dues for a full year for "union representation" (i.e., negotiations and job protection) to know that their dues are being spent on political ads.
